What is Tajweed?
Tajweed literally means proficiency or doing something well. When applied to the Quran, it refers to the set of rules for the correct pronunciation and intonation of the Arabic letters as they were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The one who is proficient in the recitation of the Quran will be with the honorable and obedient scribes (angels). - Sahih Muslim

How Our Online Tajweed Classes Work
Tajweed cannot be learned well from a video or a book alone, because the most important skill is hearing your own mistakes. In every class your teacher listens to you recite, stops you when a letter comes from the wrong place or a rule is missed, and has you repeat it until it is right.
Each lesson follows the same rhythm. Your teacher introduces one rule with clear examples, you practice it on isolated words, and then you apply it to real verses from the Quran. At the end of the lesson you receive a short assignment to practice before the next class, so the rule becomes a habit instead of something you only remember in lessons.
We teach Tajweed to children and adults, in one-to-one classes with male or female teachers. Students who cannot yet read Arabic fluently start with our Noorani Qaida course or Quran reading course, because Tajweed is easier to learn once you can read the letters comfortably.
Progress is tracked lesson by lesson. Your teacher notes which rules you have mastered and which still need work, and revisits older rules regularly so they do not fade. Many students find that after a few months their prayers sound different: slower, clearer, and more confident.
